Cleaning:
  • Step 1 Linseed oil (suggested), or white/mineral spirits (also possible)
  • Step 2 Brush cleaning soap (with conditioner)
**Avoid the use of strong chemical cleaners!
Precautions:
  1. Separate Brushes Based On Paint Type: Do not use the same brush for both water-based paint and oil paint because this can easily cause “paint gunk”, and may damage the bristles. Please use different sets of brushes for different types of paint.
  2. Avoid Prolonged Exposure to Solvent: Soaking the bristles in solvent for too long may result in bent tip or deformation, and the ferrule may lose its adhesive that holds the bristles in place. Please clean and let dry immediately after each use.
Cleaning Steps:
  • Initial Wash: Rinse the brush with water to remove excess paint. (Not for oil paint)
  • Deep Clean: Massage the bristles with brush soap. Rinse with water to remove any residue and maintain its spring.
  • Reshape Tip: Mold the tip back to shape gently with fingers; avoid splitting and curling.
  • Apply Maintenance Oil: Before the bristles is fully dry, apply a conditioner to extend the life of the brush and its integrity.
  • Proper Drying Method: Do not point the bristles downwards while drying. Lay the brush flat or tip side up in a well ventilated area to dry naturally.
